[resolved] Moderated registration: no email goes automatically to approved users (5 posts)

This is an excellent plug-in and does just what I need for a membership site.

On the site all requests for registration are moderated. When someone applies for registration I (as admin) receive a notification email. However, when I approve the user, no email goes to him/her with log-in details.

The content in the email dialog for sending once moderated registration is approved is the default text.

I am expecting a large number of users to register and I don't have the time to email all the users individually. I really need the notifications to go out automatically once I've approved registrations.

What am I missing? I've been very careful to follow the instructions in the user guide.

Have you confirmed that wp_mail is functioning (i.e. is WP sending other emails)?

As a test, I set myself up as a user on the site (with an email address that I don't use as admin) without using wp-members. The system sent me a confirmation email immediately.

But when I deleted the test user and then set up another test user through wp-members I did not receive a confirmation email. However, I did receive the usual alerts through the email address I use as admin that a new user was awaiting moderation and, after moderation, that the new user had been moderated.

I have tried your test php code and get a server error back (HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.). I'm not sure that I'm using the test properly. I uploaded it to the root directory of my WP install with the filename mail_test.php and then tried to navigate to subdomain.siteurl.org.uk/mail_test.php

There are a number of possible issues. I would suggest trying the WP Mail SMTP plugin. This will allow wp_mail to send email via SMTP, which is more reliable.

Many thanks, Chad. That now works faultlessly. I very much appreciate your advice.
