I’ve got a similar problem. After I upgraded to WordPress 4.1, the pop ups on my site are grey and not clickable. Actually, it makes the entire browser grey (except for the menu bar at the top of the page). I’ve got Google Custom Search, and after typing something in, it pops up with everything slightly grey and unclickable. The only way to close it that I know of is to refresh the page.
Another strange thing that I’ve noticed though is that ANYTIME while in wp-admin dashboard, if there is a pop up, the same thing happens. What could be the problem?
