  • WPtouch uses the same urls that your desktop theme uses so the sitemap will be the same.

    Yes, but how does it know that there is a site optimized for the mobile index?

    This is purely anecdotal, but the sites I am using using wptouch for don’t seem to show up as well as the purely mobile sites that have mobile sitemaps:

    I am wondering whether I should add a new additional sitemap which is nothing but a close of the existing one with the mobile parameter. What do you think?

    We’ve found this to not be necessary. Though, we don’t think doing so will hurt. Implement at your own discretion.
