Mobile device misalignment (18 posts)

    Hello. I've got a site set up over here and it's using the Twenty Eleven theme, with a child theme set up to change font size/color and background colors. On a larger screen, everything shows up as intended, but on mobile devices individual pages show up aligned to the left side of the screen. Not the home page, but the individual posts; check the link in the footer titled "Testing. One, two, three..." for an example. Why is this happening and how can I get it to stop?

    What happens when you use the original 2011 parent theme?

    Same thing. It's still misaligned, but the margin is smaller.

    To be honest, I don't understand how.

    I'm not sure those are actually a problem - but I don't really see a problem on your site either - at least not on a resized desktop browser. Can you explain more where you see it?

    I've seen this problem with alignment specifically on my iPhone when trying to view or edit the site, in the apps for WordPress, Safari, and Chrome. Resizing my browser window didn't cause it to happen, but I checked on my iPhone again and it was still misaligning.

    I don't see that in the iPhone Safari browser - but looking more closely at your screenshots - it looks like that only happens when you are logged in? I'm not logged it (obviously).

    Is this in the WP app? If so, I think you may need to ask here:

    This happens not only in the WP app, but in both other browsers on my device, even when I'm not logged in.
    Another screenshot.
    If this problem would be better addressed in the forum you specified, I can take it there. Thanks.

    That forums only addresses the app, so no, this is the right place.

    If you're meaning that the left margin disappears - I think that's intentional - that's how most mobile CSS is coded so that more content fits on the smaller screen.

    Alright, so I'm in the right place, and it's intentional. However, I'd like to change that, because I feel that the left-aligned view on single posts clashes with the center-aligned view on the home page. Where in the code is this designated?

    Okay, try adding this:

    @media (max-width: 800px) {
    	#main #content .entry-content {
    		margin: 0 7.6% 0 15%;
    		width: auto;
    	}
    }

    You can adjust the 15% as you like.

    Thank you. I'll see if that works.

    Which browser & browser version does the issue occur in? I could not see anything troublesome in the latest Chrome.

    Safari 8536.25, Google Chrome v. 26.0.1410.53, and the WordPress app, all the latest released version on the iPhone 4.

    Looks like it's working as expected on my iPhone. Maybe clear the cache on your phone.
