    Hello,

I recently viewed my website, http://www.steelcityndt.com, and noticed that a large portion of the information was randomly missing from my site. In addition to information on the home page there is some random information missing throughout the website as well.

I need to know if I can recover this information.

I also need to know how to prevent this from happening again.

I absolutely did not delete or alter anything for this to happen.

Please help so I can get this corrected. I do not have time for this stuff, the website is for my business and I can not have an unreliable web developing tool like this if things just randomly dissapear.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

Do you have a recent database backup?

    Thanks for the response.

No I do not have a recent backup, and do not even know how to perform one yet. I need to start doing that, but first have to learn how.

Also, the information within the "widgets" is mainly what is gone now from my homepage.

Will deactivating the plug-ins affect any of my data? Should I perform a backup now incase something else happens?

See WordPress_Backups but also ask your hosts if they have a recent backup that you could use now. Deactivating plugins should not cause any permanent loss of data.
