Missing pages from Parent Dropdown (4 posts)

Upgraded from 2.6 to 2.8.3 and afterwards when trying to assign a page to a parent, only about 30% of the possible parent pages were listed in the dropdown. And pages that had previously been assigned to a parent that was now not available in the dropdown were unreachable on my website. Reverted back to 2.6.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

I tried deactivating both of the active plugins as well as changing to the default theme, but no luck. I still only get a small part of the drop down.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Well, I finally solved this. It turns out that all of the "missing" pages were children of an unpublished page. You could do this in the older versions but apparently not in 2.8.3
