Support » Installing WordPress » Missing MySQL extension which is required by WordPress

  • I had WordPress running locally with IIS. I was having some errors from my custom scripting and was getting a blank screen. So I turned on errors in PHP. Now I get this error “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.”

    I have extension=php_mysql.dll and extension=php_mysqli.dll uncommented.
Also set my EXT path extension_dir = “C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext”

Any idea how to fix this?

I guess I had my error setting wrong. So technically my script had an error and because it was not communicating with MySQL it gave me that error? I Reinstalled PHP and the error when away. I turned on the error reporting again and the error returned.
