• I set up a blog with WordPress 6 for a retired journalist at http://blocksindicator.com. He rang me today to say the front page was missing and he got a 500 Internal server error. When I went to look it has the webhosting page showing. I can log in and view all his posts from the dashboard but can’t work out how to get the page back up again. I don’t have a copy of the index.php that was and the one I can see online shows the webhosting details. What do I need to do to get it back again? Reinstall wordpress? Use a backup copy of his blog?

I’ve since learnt that this was caused by an upgrade to php5 on the server. A few more blogs I’m hosting had the same problem. Once I became aware that my IT people had caused this to happen I was able to sort the problem by removing the index.htm page I had in the public_html folder – just in case anyone else experiences this. Now in index.php view fine again.
