• I am working on a website using the “No More Promises” template from EZpthemes. There are several things I would like to change, namely the header font and a stock “Welcome” message in the sidebar. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to access the css files. The only options listed under the “Appearance” menu tab are Themes, Widgets, and Menus. “Editor” is not listed.

Thinking this may be an issue isolated to this theme, I tried other themes including the default Twenty Eleven theme but the “Editor” is not available.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

  • Create a child theme and do it that way.
    Child Themes

I’m creating a teacher website through our school’s WordPress server. I’m limited to the themes listed and cannot create a child theme (as far as I know). I checked with our administrator and he says that I have the privileges to edit each theme for my site, so that doesn’t explain why the editor option is not showing up.

When you directly edit a themes files, those edits may be overwritten when the theme is updated. Child themes will not be overwritten. Talk to your administrator about creating a child theme.

Thanks for your reply, I’ll ask. Can I create a child theme without access to the editor?

Sounds like you should check with the admin to find out if it’s set up correctly and/or just what “edit” means. Perhaps also ask him about how changes will be saved when themes are updated.

Edit — was writing this when you two posted above…ditto!

    This may help …..

Thanks for the link to that forum. I sent the info to our network administrator. Hopefully that solves the problem.
