   I am using the DEFAULT Template to Create a Static Site and Have Enabled Comments on this page

   but the option is not available. Please help.

   In 99% of the themes the comments are not called on Pages by design (nobody likes a comment on their Contact, About Us and similar Pages).

   You either have to include the call for the comments template into your page.php (see how it is done in the single.php) or create an additional Page template which has the call - for greater flexibility.

   Based on Template Hierarchy you are likely using themes/default/page.php as your page template and that may not be coded for comments.

   I do not know php at all. I see there is a single.php file in my folder but do not know how to use this for this purpose, or at all for that matter. I'm sorry but I did not understand the info on the link shown above to PAGES.

   Can anyone give a newbie a bit of very specific help?
