Upgrading to 2.3.1 went smoothly, except that the links on the home page to About and Archive are broken. I'm not sure whether it's a problem with the urls they point to (wordpress/about/ and /wordpress/archives/ respectively) or something else, but I can't seem to find where to regenerate them...

Did you update your permalinks?
Other than that... no way to give any meaningful advice without a link.

As for updating the permalinks, under Options | Permalinks I chose date-and-name-based, and that seems to work. E.g.
finds the right individual post page. It's only the /about/ and /archives/ that seem to be missing/unable to resolve.

Posted 4 years ago #My understanding was that WordPress creates at least a default About page during installation, that says something along the lines of "This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from." Is this not the case?
At any rate, I figured it out: I had to go into Manage | Pages and create a page named about and a page named archives using the provided templates.
