I have just upgraded my granddaughters site to 3.7.

When I try to include new images, I have the ‘missing temporary folder’ message. I have tried all the recommended actions; permissions, theme change, de-activate plugins, etc. I even tried to ftp the images but the Library can’t see them. I have no problems on other sites running 3.6. I am loathe to upgrade them at the moment.

The ‘temporary’ folder is a part of your server and not WP itself. Did is say where it was looking?

No, I had assumed that it was within the wordpress structure as others had cured the problem by creating a ‘tmp’ folder in the root and giving it 777 permission. I did likewise to no avail.

The problem only occurred when I updated to 3.7. I’m assuming a pointer has been altered but I haven’t found it yet. Others have suggested a ‘Settings/Miscellaneous’ entry for changing the upload folder, I don’t have that option in the drop down menu

I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the interest

    Missing Folder problem – Resolved

    Mika,

Thank you. The problem was with the host company. I tried everything I could to make sure the problem was not of my making. When I got in touch with the company’s Chat Line, I was given this information.

We have recreated the web-space and it will take effect after an hour. Please check it again after an hour and get back to us if issue persist.

The issue is due to the server path not resolving correctly to the correct server path hence the error message

They were as good as their word and now my granddaughter will have a few Halloween images to decorate her site.
