I’m not sure if this is the proper place, but I’m asking anyway. I’m using WordPress version 3.4 on my personal domain. skipsloan.com . I’ve got Jetpack 1.4.2 installed and setup properly. I also have three separate Google Chrome configurations.

Here’s the issue: On my primary Chrome configuration the sharing buttons for Facebook and Twitter do not display. The “Share this:” text displays where it should be, but the buttons don’t display. On both of the other Chrome configurations all seems to display correctly. I’ve cleared my browser cache and to the best of my abilities I’ve got all three Chrome configurations setup with the same options.

Here’s how you could help: If you would please look at my blog and tell me if the buttons display correctly. Also anyone who may have any any insight on why it is just the one browser configuration that has a problem: Any clues would be appreciated. (It acts the same whether I’m logged in or not.)

I’m kind of confident that it is just a display issue on my end, but would like some help confirming that.

    Thanks, Skip

I sorted it out. I added the Twitter code for their follow button and it too didn’t display properly on the one. So I got to looking at “bigger picture” items.

It was the Ghostery Chrome extension that was running on the one configuration. Ghostery locks out web bugs and items that might be tracking or collecting information. Both Twitter Button and Facebook Social plugin were being disabled.

Now to see if there is something I can add to the page to force those items in other browsers that might be running that extension. But that’s for a different day in a different forum.

    Thanks, Skip
