Minify CSS not working with 9.2.2 (11 posts)

Using WP 3.1 and W3 Total Cache 9.2.2, my minify isn't working with my CSS. It strips my page of CSS leaving a white background with html default styles. I wanted to make you aware of this issue, and see if others are having similar problems. A temporary fix is to disable CSS minify.
    Thanks,
    Jaime

    Just use WP-Minify

W3TC minify is asking for problems

Second the above post. Was digging around and realized that disabling W3TC's Minify and enabling WP-Minify was super simple. Took 2 minutes to set up, and my page speed with Google is 94.

Have you tried 9.2.3, just released?

I was just going to say... I had the same error, completely broke the site and wouldn't show up in Chrome, crashed Safari. This was the latest version of the plugin. Right now running a site without cache so hope this gets resolved soon.

Jason, can you please submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin?

I don't know if this applies, but see my post about automatic minifying errors:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-w3-total-cache-important-parsing-found-with-automatic-minify
(btw, I meant to say *Important* parsing error found with automatic minify)
In the minifying process, incorrect .js code was generated. You'll see what I mean in my post. Good luck!

For certain users, W3TC refuses to add the "gzip" extension to minified js and css files. For example W3TC outputs a file named "styles.css." (note the . at the end) instead of "styles.css.gzip". Since certain browsers (notably IE) can't read these compressed files without the "gzip" extension at the end, websites are unstyled and without javascript functionality.

For some reason this problem does not affect all users so YMMV but it has been around since about 9.1.X. I have a feeling this is a server related issue (different versions of PHP, module access, etc).

Here's a hack fix although I don't recommend it since you will likely have to redo it with every update. I recommend disabling minify instead: http://kenntwas.de/2011/tips/tools-allgemein/english-version-wordpress-get-w3tc-0-9-2-1-running-with-minify-and-gzip-compression/

Frederick, do you have an ETA for fixing this bug once and for all? Minify used to work great but then something changed around 9.1.3-ish. I'm all for code progress and optimization but let's just get this thing working again even if it means reverting to older but proven code.

I have the same issue. Disabled minifying in W3TC and installed WP Minify instead.

Would be great if this could be fixed asap!

I will continue working on minify, it's the most challenging feature to keep working because all other minify plugins are missing core functionality that helps people, so I appreciate your patience.
