Mingle Forum compare categories

I use the Mingle Forum plugin in my website and it’s great because it lets you create in the forum a corresponding topic when you create a post in WP.

Now I want to do this:

We have a “Fish” category with X posts created and integrated in the forum.

I want to show in the Fish page all the topics of the forum that belongs to that category.

Like:

“Fish category page

Forum topics of Fish:
And then show the forum topics and posts of that category.”

How can I do that? Sould I create a custom field in the topic creation on the forum and then compare it to the category name?

Can anyone help me?
