MIngle and simple press / forum integration please read

I wonder is there away of both plugins working together there has been some talk on google about a way to do it but nothing that really makes sense.

Im trying to create a social network site that has a nice forum attached i did have mingle forum loaded but it has some limitations that im trying to achieve.

The gaol to have a social netwrok site like face book with a forum attached that enables me to setup up specific forums dedicated to certain users and only those certain users can add new users to there forum.

Basically a new user would register then go to the forum and ask to be accepted to enable them to use that specific forum.

Both together? That sounds like a mess. You need to see about importing your Mingle threads into Simple:Press. Lots of work.

If you want a social network site, with forums dedicated to users, you’re better off using BuddyPress with the Buddypress forums. Rather than the category/forum organization most forums use, it organizes by groups. I think it’s kind of weird, but it sounds like it might be a good fit for you.
