Migration problems

Hello,
I had to move my blog to a new server, so I copied over the files and the database, changes the wp-config.php script to point to the new database, and everything seems fine, except for some reason I seem to have lost most of my comments!?!

I had at least 10-12 comments on every post on my old server, but on the new server I could only fine 2 comments, and they were in an old post for a couple of months back. It’s weird, all the comments seem to have got lost in the migration.

Does anyone know what could have caused this to happen?
