So, I set up the site, my first time with a network, without the www. Now, we want to change it to the URL with the www. I know this is really easy to do outside of MultiSite, it's right in the General Settings area, but in a MultiSite installation, the option isn't there. I found it in the superadmin section but it's greyed out and I can't change it.
Is there any way I can go about doing this or do I need to rebuild the website?
Go change it directly in the database?

The one instance of it? It should change the rest? I don't know why you've tried to answer my questions with a question mark at the end of it. Don't seem too sure of yourself.
Where is it in the database? Will I have to change it for each site that is associated with the multisite install?
It seems that I would need to find only specific instances of the term and replace them all. I don't know why it needs to be so difficult for multisite but there's a field in the regular install.
I tried a find and replace of the domain on the entire db and it created far more nightmares.

no, it was more asking if you've considered that option.
multisite is more advanced, the URL is saved in multiple spots in the db. Yes, you need to change them all.
If that's too difficult, and this is a brand new site, then backup the themes & posts if needed, and reinstall it.

Alright. It is but it takes a couple days to set up all of the sixteen sites properly.
Finding and replacing all instances of http://yoursite.com/ with http://www.yoursite.com/ yielded ridiculous problems like every single post and page redirecting to the homepage.
Couldn't figure that out either.
Thanks for helping!
