I am having trouble migrating a site to live.

When I edit the siteURL under wp_options in phpadmin to http://www.vilayatours.com, save it and then do the same for home under wp_options it reverts back to localhost/wordpress, even though I am saving these changes.

Any clues to why and how to get round this problem will be most appreciated.

Check that you haven’t hard-coded the site urls in your theme’s function.php file.

Thanks for the reply. What should I look for to see if they are hardcoded? And can they be ‘softcoded’?

OK – I added
define(‘WP_HOME’,’http://example.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’http://example.com’);
to the config

and substituted the localhost with
update_option(‘siteurl’,’http://example.com’);
update_option(‘home’,’http://example.com’);

in the function.php

That seems to have got. Thank you for the help.
