    Hi there!

I was able to install WordPress 2.7.1 thru GoDaddy.com's web hosting service. I now have the following questions:
    1. how can I import my wordpress.com blog to marcuscanblog.com which will be my new domain.
    2. where will upload the *.xml file?

    Thanks in advance.

    Rgds,
    Cris N.

    Import:

    Admin section

Left column "Tools" section - Import

    The rest should be self-explanatory

    stvwlf,

I already did that but I encounter a 500-Internal server error and I already got a reply from GoDaddy.com that this is a WordPress error and not a hosting error.

Can anyone help me or advise if there's another appproach to import from dot com to dot org?

I currently have a domain on WordPress.com and a self-hosted WordPress.org blog/domain on 1&1. My 1&1 package includes hosting for two domains. How do I move the domain/blog on WordPress.com to the self-hosted WordPress.org without losing my posts, comments, libraries, etc.?

    Hi Jolene930,

A simple way is to export your wordpress.com blog and import in your wordpress.org
Remember during import, uncheck the pictures and attachments to be downloaded. Not to worry, the pictures, comments, and other things still show up for mine.

    Have fun!

    Lil.
