Migrating existing website to wordpress, pages or posts? (2 posts)

    Hi All,

I have an existing website (not a blog) which ranks quite well in the search engines.

To make it easier to edit / update I am thinking of switching the site over / re-designing the site in WordPress and using wordpress as the CMS for my site. Instead of just using it as a blog.

My question is should I use pages or posts to re-create pages from my previous site. So say for example I have the page "Technical Support" in my old site should I create this in WordPress using a post or a page?

In my old site this gets a good search engine ranking and so I want to make sure that I use the right wordpress "option" from the beginning and not re-create the webpage in something that does not get indexed or similar.

Alternatively I wondered if I should create posts and then "include them" using a plugin in specific pages so I have the best of both worlds??

I have tried to search for similar answers to this, but did not find any other posts which specifically answered this.

    Can anyone offer any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

    Andy.
