   Hi

   I've a self hosted blog using the WP Stats. I would now like to migrate to a) a new domain and b) to another still self hosted platoform. Would I loose the history of the stats? Meaning the blog would be still the same, just another URL / hoster.

   If you migrate to a new domain, the stats migration will be a little bit tricky.

   First, get the new domain up and running with WordPress. Then, using the same API key that you used before, activate the WordPress.com Stats plugin. (Not Jetpack.) It should show you a list of other self-hosted blogs attached to your API key. Select the previous domain of your blog and complete the activation.

   At this point you should be able to see your old stats in your new dashboard. If so, you can upgrade to Jetpack. If not, immediately contact WordPress.com Support. In your message to Support, include a link to this forum thread, your API key, and the new and old URLs of the blog. They will be able to help you complete the move with a minimum of lost data.

   Hi,

   I'm in the exact same situation, I'm moving my self hosted blog to a sub-domain.
   I started to follow your steps.

   After adding my API key in WordPress.com Stats, I don't have the other self-hosted blog list, I have this :

   The API key "xxxxxxx" belongs to the WordPress.com account "xxxxxx". If you want to use a different account, please enter the correct API key.
   Note: the API key you use determines who will be registered as the "owner" of this blog in the WordPress.com database. Please choose your key accordingly. Do not use a temporary key.
   Add blog to WordPress.com account
   This blog will be added to your WordPress.com account. You will be able to allow other WordPress.com users to see your stats if you like.

   I'm not sure I should click on the button "Add blog to WordPress", I'm afraid it will create a new set of statistics for that blog and not reusing my current blog statistics.

   What do you think ? Should I go on with the process or contact WordPress.com Support ?
