    Hi Joel,

    Please can you switch to http://updraftplus.com/forums/ ? The WordPress.Org rules don’t allow us to discuss issues in paid add-ons here.

    The mods are friendly though and don’t mind an initial answer now that I’ve directed you where to reply to (i.e. don’t reply to this message here)!

    1) The log isn’t expected to be imported – it’s purely informational for human beings tracking problems, and is never re-used by UD itself.

    2) Can you retry? I have a vague memory of seeing a case where an error was shown concerning the database file when it was combined with a log, but the error didn’t show if the log was not also uploaded. If you still have trouble, please email the db file to contact@updraftplus.com so that we can examine it.

    Sorry – what does the commercial product have to do with this plugin?

    @david Anderson: Thanks. We cross-posted. 🙂

    Hi Joel,

    I’ll add the answer here as well as the email I’ve sent you, because it’s relevant to people importing backups for restoration in the wordpress.org version, as well as migrating via the add-on.

    The file you’re importing ends in:

    db (1).gz

    That ‘ (1)’ must have come in through saving two copies of the file on your computer. But it causes UpdraftPlus not to recognise the file as a database – it is looking for the db.gz ending. So, rename the file and then try again and it should work.
