Is there an easy way to export WordPress' data from a MySQL database, then import it into a PostgreSQL database?

  2. There probably is an easy way to export any MySQL database and import it into PostgreSQL, but WordPress doesn't support PostgreSQL, so it really doesn't matter in this situation.

Ah, you're right. For some reason I thought WordPress also supported PostgreSQL.

  4. There is a third-party project for this, but it has fallen significantly behind and it is not supported by these forums: http://wordpress-pg.sourceforge.net/

There is also a lengthy article about the likelihood of official support for PostgreSQL here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Alternative_Databases

Great article - but it doesn't conclude which solution will most likely be taken. Presumably 'status quo' for now, but any other in the future?

  6. Basically that article states that WordPress will remain a MySQL-only blogging platform until some is willing to join the development team and help them to bring support for PostgreSQL to WordPress.
