I have a host ready to use. I want to migrate my WP.com blog to WP.org. I also want to migrate the users associated with their posts. In addition, there is no "contempt" theme for WP.org, but that's not important because I want to use another theme.
How do I do all this without losing my posts, settings, users, sitemeter hit count, and WP analytic stats?
your posts, comments and authors are exported
you can use the same api for the stats plugin
don't know about site meter thingy
at .com
dashboard - tools export
at .org
dashboard - tools - import
just set up a new install at wherever and do the export/import
Samuel B.,
Thanks!
What about the users (you mean the authors)? I want the 15 authors on the WP.com side to be able to use their '.com' IDs (user/author) at '.org'.
One last question, so if I don't care what theme I use, the transfer of posts, comments, authors, will coincide with whichever theme I choose right?

yes - true

not exactly sure what you mean but you can create the authors with the same user name and assign them author privileges
So they have to create their WP.org ID's all over again?
In WP.com I could invite authors, now I have to create their ID's in WP.org. Is this normal?
yes - it's normal
either someone registers or you create them
