middle of the page on single

I have been reading through some the support page and I can’t seem to find one that is similar to the problem I am having. When I click on a blog entry from the front page it takes me to my single page format. Typical WP. The problem is that when the single page is displays it renders in the middle not at the top. What can cause that?
