    Josh,
Due to a loss of the host server I had to move the site I am working on to a Xampp install on a local machine. I added a .tld extension to the site name, moved the database, updated the wp-config.php file and now can log in and see the site on the local host.

However, meteor slides will not work. I can look at the generated code and see that the WP install is loading the js and css for the plugin but I get nothing on the front end.

    Any thoughts?

Okay, more information: As I sit examining the page source using FireFox and Firebug I can actually see the scripts updating the HTML as each slide cycles through the list. But I get nothing visually on the page.

As long as all the URLs are updated and the images were copied it should work fine to move it and use it locally.

Did you update both the WordPress and Home URLs? Did you update the URLs for the rest of the content? Also, look at the path in the media settings and make sure that is correct.

    Josh,
I just found out I was torpedoes by the laziness of others. Rather than copy 3 files on the old server they set up symbolic links. So when I downloaded the site and the old server went down, the images went with it.

It took me a while to figure it out because the slides actually looked like they were still present; I decided to delete them all and re-enter them and discovered that there actually were no images.

    Sorry to bug ya.
