    I would appreciate your help.
after I installed WP 3.01 my rankings and my sales fell in some cases by as much as 50%
Today I found at least one problem.
    I use arclite theme.
my website http://1stbirthdaypartytheme.com shows up perfectly fine in firefox 3.6 but in all other browsers such as IE7, IE8 opera etc. the third column is cut in half and no link works.
searching for a solutio I found this article:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Meta_Tags_in_WordPress

I also found that may be this metatag might help me:
    < meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" / >

however arclites' header.php does not have this line:
    <title><?php bloginfo('name'); ?><?php wp_title(); ?></title />
therefore I do not know where to place the additional metatag.

I looked for a metatag plugin but cannot determine which one would do the job which at this time is to place the new metatag
    < meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" / >
    into the header.

I believe that may solve the problem.
can one of you experienced WordPress genius' please help me to fix my problem?

either her or by writing to me at Michaelgs@satx.rr.com
    Please.

I have 27 sites for halloween all with the same problem and the season has just started.
    all help will be apreciated.

    Michael

You should be able to simply drop the meta tag anywhere between the opening '<head>' tag and the closing '</head>' tag in your header.php file.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that I don't think that the meta tag will help much with the issue you described. It sounds like a theme with poor CSS. If your meta tag doesn't work, I would suggest looking into another theme...
