   As I'm sure you are familiar there are several meta data plugins like the popular 'All in One Seo Pack'.

   I install this on all my sites, but I would like these features to be core. Especially given the move towards CMS that WordPress seems to be taking.

   Having an extra block in the page/post editor for 'All in One Seo Pack' just seems a little bit odd for clients. It's not that plugins don't work (thanks developers!), it just makes WordPress a harder sell that it doesn't have these by default.

   It would also be nice if the meta where available in custom templates, perhaps allowing for some more creative use of the meta data.

   Anyone else feel the same?

   I'm with you on the Metadata as Core issue. There are plugins, but for a function like simple Meta, I think it would be good in the core. If you haven't already, post this Metadata thing in the Ideas section here. That way, other WP users can see it and vote on it, and maybe the dev team will decide to add it into a future release!

   Be sure to search for a similar idea first, though. In a SEO-conscious age, I wouldn't be surprised if someone else has already requested this feature.
