   I am currently using a stock template and just realized there aren't any meta tags in the header (but there IS a lot of crap I cannot decipher)

   I've come cross this plugin, Seo Meta Tags, which looks really cool and easy to use. Would you use this, or enter them in manually?

   You can be sure that all of the "crap" is there for a reason. :-)

   Have a look at all-in-one-seo-pack if you want to use an SEO plugin.
