I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues: YES / NO NO- plenty of wordpress forum help topics
My site's URL (web address) is: http://www.tampabayappraisers.com
Description (including timeline of any changes made):

Website is not working properly. I went into http://www.tampabayappraisers.com/wp-admin
then into EDITOR on the left side under THEMES. I put the google verification code in the BODY below HEAD and above TITLE.
Then I updated and the website was wrong. I tried using another code but it did not work. I have the most updated version. I am doing my best but keep coming up empty handed. GoDaddy.com tried to restore to an earlier date but that didn't work. Can I try to verify my site with an HTML file? Please and many thanks in advance.

    Website is not working properly.

Other than your site being really slow, what's 'not working'? What are you tryign to do?

Yes, I know it's working for outside users but on my pc I cannot get it to come up at all. This began when I tried to verify my ownership of it with google. Any ideas.

Even http://www.tampabayappraisers.com/wp-admin is reeeeealy slow to load.

    1) Turn off ALL your plugins
    2) Switch to teh default theme (Twenty Eleven)

Okay great! I guess too much of anything will slow anything down. Now is it okay to selectively add some plugins?

Yes :) Turn them back on one at a time. And I would even go so far as to be vicious with yourself and delete ones you WANT but don't NEED.
