meta post fields are out! (12 posts)

At Sushubh's suggestion, I removed the 'Meta:' leader from the output of the_meta(). I had put that in during my initial testing, but it really didn't belong there. It should be up to the web designer to decide if they want some kind of label there.
And as he notes, the system will automatically remember all of the keys that you've previously entered, and provide them in a dropdown, for easy reference.

huh. what exactly is this for? i couldnt find any .doc on this.
any custom key/value I define never appears on any page or source code, i.e. there's no meta data in any of my pages source codes nor in the visible text of any post which has defined custom keys.
it sounds spiffy though! please elaborate.
    thanks

though there's still no meta data in any of my posts regardless on how many keys i define... did a fresh install, too. maybe i am missing something. maybe i need to edit the main template?

folks, sorry I'm reopening this cold thred - but I could not get head and tail of it, and I need help on this (I'm a new kid on the block, and not a php guru either).
Can someone please tell me in simple non-programmer, no command-line-tampering terms how I can remove the META: entry from the WP page? I have HAPEdit to edit PHP files - but I need to know which one(s) and how.
    Thxn in advance

What I need is to be able to display JUST the key for the PostMeta I added. For example, if i made a PostMeta called "link" with a key of "http://blabla.com" I would want to be able to just have it print out the URL in the page wherever without the "link:".

I'm testing the 1.2RC and like the idea of the meta stuff. I've set up a URL key and it's showing on my posts properly... but now how do I make it actually link the URL value?
Also, if I let readers register and blog, is there a way to present this URL key/value field to them?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kathy
