Ok so here's what happened. Sometime on Thursday the website I administer as webmaster started generating internal 500 server error.
As I understand it that's just a catchall for "something went wrong and we can't be more specific about it" (for security reasons i think). Some of my website's pages work but others do not, including my admin panel.
However I knew that to access my website's content i'd need to use FTP. So through FTP i went in to fix whatever was wrong. Because I had previously added some new plugins I thought that might be the problem so I deleted all the plugins, didn't work, the website continued to generate the error.
So i checked the error log. That wasn't too helpful. "Premature end of script headers: php-wrapper.fcgi" which I understand to mean that a script didn't work. So i have nothing else to go on.
After that I deleted the htacess file and re uploaded a blank one. But now when before i got internal 500 errors and at least some of my site's pages could be displayed i get
"The webpage at http://www.floridakeyclub.com/ has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer."
"Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects."
I am currently trying to replace all the current files with the files of a backup made at a time long before any problems presented themselves.
But if there is anything someone can tell me to fix this, please I would appreciate it
