When I fill out the contact form and submit it, it tells me the message failed to send. I am not sure why. Everything seems to be filled out correctly, but it gives me this message:

Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

I have this form on the contact page as well as the footer in a widget. Any ideas?

  • Happened to most of my sites.

When you go to edit the form I found that the Message Body and the Mail settings have all been cleared (empty fileds). I had to re-enter them all in again to get it working.

This is what I see what I go to edit the form:

Your Name (required)
[text* your-name]

Your Email (required)
[email* your-email]

Subject
[text your-subject]

Your Message
[textarea your-message]

[submit "Send"]

Are you talking about something else? If so, where? I need a bit of step by step if you could.

Though the plugin successfully sends millions of emails every day, there are a host of issues that can delay or stop emails on both the sending and receiving ends of a typical email. It depends entirely on your local configuration.

You will need to investigate this issue for your particular local configuration. See Contact Form 7 Email Issues
