I am new to wordpress and have made a partial mess. My website is (or maybe was) on karlmark.se and the wordpressversion I want to replace it with is on karlmark.se/ny. When I was playing around with getting the old one to be replaced with the new one I changed the address in the adminsection from /karlmark.se/ny/wp-admin to http://www.karlmark.se/wp-admin. That seems to have been a stupid move because now I get an ugly site and can´t reach my admin section at all. How can I solve this wonderful little mess?

    Regards,

    Mikael

I can access the files on the server. Could I maybe edit the link in the code of any of the files there? If so, which one?
    Regards

    Thanks a lot.

I have now tried everything except for trying to edit the database, but don´t manage to solve the problem. There was no functions.php file so I made one with the text i found after following the first link. I first put it in my /ny folder and then in /ny/wp-admin, but the best result I got from that was ´file not found´. Changing the wp-config file gave the same result.
I have the impression that I should first solve the admin problem and then move the files. But it seems like I could do it the other way around as well. Maybe I´m just confusing things? I seem to be pretty stuck at the moment.

    Regards,

    Mikael

Follow the steps here to fix it in the database:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database

    It works every time.

That´s wonderful! The site is up and running now. Thanks alot! I really appreciate it.

Now, I´ll try to move the thing to the root. The answers above should be just fine for that. And I am happy that I backed the whole thing up before I made a mess.

    Thanks again.
