Merging old WP-PostViews Plus data into newly installed WP Popular posts plugin? (6 posts)

So I've been using this (http://wwpteach.com/wp-postviews-plus) plugin for about 11 months now, and have a ton of recorded views. I recently installed this very useful plugin in order to display popular posts... but I was hoping I could somehow merge the almost year's worth of collected data into the table this plugin reads off?

I know hypothetically this should be possible, but have absolutely no idea how to go about this.

Anyone try something like this before?

    Hi there,

This has been requested / suggested before and I haven't had the time to take a look into it. I'll include this request into my TODO list and, if possible, may offer some sort of "import" option or maybe just a bunch of DB queries so you can run it to transfer the data.

I'll get back to this thread probably next weekend.

Is it possible to manually edit the database data? Some people reload the same post several times and exaggarate their posts hits and would like to normalize some of the values. How can I do that?

You'd need to use a tool such as PHPMyAdmin, usually enabled by most hostings out there. The DB tables you need to look for are wp_popularpostsdata and wp_popularpostsdatacache (though editing the latter isn't really necessary).
