I have searched for anything on this topic but have come up with nothing.

I have merged three cells (from rows 2,3,4) in column 1. When I hover on any cell in row 2, the whole row (including the merged cell) is highlighted. However, when I hover on rows 3 or 4, that first merged cell is not highlighted. Is there any way to highlight that cell when I hover on row 2 or row 3 or row 4? The idea is the entry in that first column merged cell applies to each of the three rows and should be highlighted with them.

I would include a link to the site, but it is not live yet.

    Hi,

    thanks for your question.

I see what you mean, and unfortunately, I don’t have a solution to this. The reason for this behavior is that technically, the merged cell still belongs to the first of the the three rows and is treated as a part of that first row by the browser. That’s why it reacts to the hover on the first row, but not on the other rows.
Unfortunately, there’s no direct way to change this, and all that I can think of would be a custom JavaScript solution that you could try to implement, where you listen for the hover event and then apply the effect manually.

    Regards,
    Tobias

That’s okay. I’ll just turn off the hover feature. I can live without it. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.

    Hi,

sure, no problem. You are very welcome!
Sorry that I couldn’t present a working solution here.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
