I have two installations of WordPress for two different sites (on my localhost).

On the first installation, I did an upgrade from Tiny Forge 1.4 to 1.5 and am using a child theme. In this instance, I’m able to access the built in “Primary” menu with the search form at the right hand side of the menu bar.

In my second installation, I used a new install of 1.5 and a child theme.

In Appearance>Menus, there are no options for the “Primary” menu.
At the bottom right, there should be Menu Settings checkboxes for adding new top level pages and Theme Locations…Primary Menu. These two settings are missing.

I really like the Primary Menu with the right hand search…is there a way to fix it in my child theme? Or am I missing something else?

    thanks
    Clive
