Have a look at the file index.php, you should see at the end of the file the following code:
<?php
get_sidebar();
get_footer();
Have a nice day
Hi PanKogut,
Thanks so much for pitching in! Unfortunately, I must have made an error and I’m in a worse position now. I downloaded the index.php file from the server and added the code you mentioned at the bottom of the document using CodeRunner. I uploaded the new index.php file to the server and now nothing on the website is functional – just blank white pages. I removed the added code and re-uploaded the index.php file to the server but the problem persists.
Any ideas?
Hi chasestoudenmire,
can you please paste here the code of your index.php?
Thanks
Have a good day
Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
Then try switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
