Menu won't line up properly (CSS) (14 posts)

    I finally figured out how to use WP with my own design, but I've run into a little problem.
    This is what I want my design to look like (I designed & coded it, then checked if it was working before integrating it with WP and it did work).
    Unfortunately, this is what my design looks like when I integrated it with WP.
    Here is my CSS.
    I've spent about 7 hours non-stop trying to figure this out, but I can't, so any help would be much appreciated.

    A link to your site would be better - we can then see and manipulate the css more easily.
    At a guess:
    - your widths are too large
    or
    - you are clearing after the content
    or
    - you are mixing positioning wrong
    Like I said though, a link will get it sorted much quicker.

    The menu has dropped out of #rap.
    Try removing the 'clear: all;' from .feedback
    It's done nothing here in the webdev, but I think it's at least part of the solution

    I tried removing 'clear: all;' but it did nothing.
    Could you elaborate on the 'menu dropped out of #rap' part?
    I don't think it's anything to do with the widths, since they worked fine without WP.

    I think it's divs then....
    The page validates, but it looks a mess.
    I've had this before and although it was perfectly valid code, the closing </divs> were wrongly placed from a visual point of view.
    You could post your index.php over at http://paste.uni.cc/ so we could see all the raw code and maybe suggest changes, or just very carefully go through your index.php checking all opeing and closing divs. You are the right number, it's just a single closing </div> could do with being a few lines lower in the code.

    Yeah, I know it's a mess because I'm an amateur coder and I just wanted to make sure everything looked fine before cleaning it up.
    Here is my index.php

    It looks right....
    Can you delete the .feedback statement ?
    .feedback {
    color: #630;
    text-align: right;
    clear: all;
    }
    Just delete that and resave the css please ?

    Sadly, no. The menu is still stuck down there and for some reason, the bg is gone.

    margin: 9px 20px 0px 20px;
    Make the 220 into 20 ?

    :)
    You might want to bring the last closing </div> down now so that the credit line sits within the rap.
