this is possibly a default output of the sidebar.php code, if you don't use actual widgets in dashboard - appearance - widgets.
drag a widget of your choice into the sidebar widget ares, and the META should disappear.
if not, it might help if you can post a link to your site to illustrate the problem.
if you need to remove this META for specific pages only, try to use a plugin for conditional widgets: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=conditional+widget
Thanks I use a few widgets and this only happened since yesterday, but site was hacked a month ago, my site is essextheatreclub.co.uk
I got the site reloaded to a previous back up from the web hoster, seems OK now.
there is no hardcoded META section in sidebar.php of your theme;
however there seem to be two different widget areas - try to change the 'Sidebar Blog' area.
or possibly try and replace sidebar.php with a fresh copy;
