Menu option not loading, unable to create or edit menu

    Hello, I have a wordpress 3.8 installation, with no plugins installed. using the default theme (or any other theme)I’m unable to create or edit the menu. When I go to appearance > Menus all I see is the left sidebar for adding a page to a menu. No menu exists, so the page is blank to the right of said sidebar. When I click “create a new menu” nothing happens.

    Tried on Latest firefox, IE10, and latest Chrome. Incidentally, I am unable to manipulate (drag, add) widgets in the latest firefox either.

    Any ideas?

    Another problem: about 50% of the time when I create/edit a Post or Page, none of the formatting buttons exist, and the text is white (so I can’t see it without highlighting).

    Never seen these issues in all my years of using WordPress! I know WordPress is *always* buggy, but man, 3.8 is just not good ><

    There are no known issues of this type in WP 3.8. In fact the vast majority of “WordPress problems” are actually due to theme and/or plugin issues. Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    This is a fresh install of 3.8 with the default theme – hence the “usual issues’ not being applicable. >< Any other ideas?

    Having the same issue as mmaddox. Disabled all plugins, checked wp-config.php.

    It seems to be caused by themes that aren’t “3.8 ready”. Not sure what 3.8 did, but it broke a lot of theme compatability, that’s for sure.
