    Hello,

After upgrade my menu pallet for my custom type does not appear. Is there code that I can add to my functions.php that will force the custom type menu to appear?

Try to activate the post type.
Then go to edit post type->Advanced->Check All
Be sure that in Menu->Show in Menus and Show in Admin Bar is checked

Do you have other plugins activated? Or are you running WPMU? Sometimes one plugin steals the menu position of another plugin. And can you clarify what exactly you mean by "upgrade my menu pallet"? Adding code to functions.php is usually the wrong way to solve problems in WordPress... there are configurable options for the CCTM, but my guess is that something else is tripping this up. WP can be a pain because it lacks any error logs.
