[resolved] Menu Lag (19 posts)

    Hello,

    I am having some issues with my header menu lagging when you scroll across it. They work fine but there just seems to be a delay and an overlap in categories when you scroll over. Im using Chrome and the latest version of wordpress. My website is http://thesuchef.org/

    Similarly, my page shows up differently in Chrome vs IE9. The circles are not greyed out and the menu dropdown is much quicker.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Alex

    Have you modified the theme's style.css file?

    I believe i did early on to change the header picture size but after that I've done all my changes in my child folder.

    Can you try deactivating all plugins to explore whether any could be responsible?

    Can you try switching back to the original theme to see if the issue persists? If it still persists, try then deactivating all plugins.

    When i switched back to the original theme, the problem is gone. When I switch back to my child theme, its back.

    In your child theme style.css file, look at this bit:

    .main-navigation ul ul {
    	float: left;
    	opacity: 1;
    	position: absolute;
    		top: 1.6em;
    		left: 0;
    	text-align: left;
    	transition: all .4s ease-in-out;
    	-webkit-transition: all .4s ease-in-out;
    	-moz-transition: all .4s ease-in-out;
    	-o-transition: all .4s ease-in-out;
    	visibility: hidden;
    	z-index: 99999;
    }

    You need to remove this:

    opacity: 1;

    Is it to do with the Child Theme again?

    Could you provide a link to an image showing the issue?

    Try copying the 'inc' folder into your Child Theme.

    Looks like the only way to get grayscale working across browsers is to use JavaScript. There's a library that does it for you: http://www.pixastic.com/lib/docs/#basic .

    Do you want to go down this route?
