   When I have activated the plugin (version 1.3.6) and I'm logged in as Admin, then the menu is shown correct. However, if I'm logged in as a user with read acces only or even not logged in, then the navigatien menu is shown incorrect.
   If I deactivate the plugin, the menu is shown correctly again.

   I have also tested this with the standard installed WP themes to check whether it was my theme which causes the error, but even with the standard themes the error still exists.

   What is going wrong here?

   For some strange reason I can't reproduce the error again regardless the theme. Maybe a reboot of XAMPP was required. So for now this issue seems to be resolved.
