  • There isn’t a hover option on an iPad, so a dropdown that uses onhover will never work on that device.

Right so how do people who use mac’s etc see the drop down boxes on websites as a long of websites have these?

I don’t have access to a Mac atm but it would help if your top level menu links actually led to real pages.

The idea is menu didn’t link to pages and it was drop menu to get to pages, whole ideal of the website and how it functions.

No sure it helps but I’m on a Mac right now and the menus appear for me. I’m using Chrome if that makes any difference.

Understood but that does assume that everyone is using a mouse – which is not the case for iPad & iPhone users. Or other keyboard navigators. One option would be to create Pages for the top level links and populate each with a list of its sub-pages. Then everyone will be able to access all Pages – whether they use a mouse or not.

Yer chrome works fine i think must be mac own IE that issue.

This not to do with not having a mouse as i can access it ok on both my mobile phones and get the menu fine.

This is Apple software issue by looks of it.

No – it’s not. Have you tried to navigate that menu using just your keyboard? It’s impossible to use – which means that thousands (or even millions) of disabled users won’t be able to access your site. Were you aware that, under UK law, you have to take reasonable steps to ensure that your site does not include these kinds of discriminatory barriers?

FYI, on an iMac and MBAir it’s fine on Firefox and Safari.

And there is no such thing as IE on a Mac – has not been since 2005.

iPads and iPhones can use any browser they can download, but I think by default the Safari browser comes with it.

ok well think going have do bit more investigation and see what can work out. Thanks for all the responses today

Correct, and just tested it — the menu on the site in question does not work on an iPad.
