• I’ve been using wordpress for a few weeks now and I think it’s great, but it already caused me a lot of trouble.

For unknown reasons, my memory limit gets exhausted with some things I do in the admin dashboard.
I run on a shared server with a PHP RAM of 32 Mb, which should be sufficient for WordPress.
I’ve tried to upgrade my php memory to 64mb but my server won’t let me, so I stopped trying.
Instead I wondered why my memory limit is exceeded so fast.

I have absolutely NO plugins enabled

    The problems I run into:
-I cannot upload images larger than 400×400 pixels, that will give me a htpp-error (and it has nothing to do with security reasons)
-I cannot have an automatic update of wordpress, I only get a blank screen
-I cannot have an automatic update of a plugin, also gives me a blank screen
-I tried using 1 plugin: Gigpress. But when I tried to activate it, it says:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /mysite/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gigpress/output/gigpress_shows.php on line 136

So even activating 1 plugin takes up too much memory!

What is taking so much memory? 32mb should be more than enough I think.

Could it be something in my theme or with my server?
