Membership Plugins: Can they be added later without issues? (3 posts)

I'm making a website that will have the basic wordpress functions for members who join it. I may or may not have members pay in the future. If I don't have them pay, I'm thinking I really don't need to add an extra plugin for membership.

My question, if I launch the site without a membership plugin than decide to add one later, could I fairly seamlessly switch over the current member accounts to it without having people sign back up?

    Thanks.

Yes, you can do this later without any issue.

I am using Wishlist plugin, in this plugin have option to import members. So in future, if you need you can use this plugin.

The existing members, username and password remains same and you can mail them easily within the plugin.

    Thank you

Does it work that way for all (or most) membership plugins, do you know?

And looking like I'm going to need something to improve the profile system and registration (need a ToS on it!!), Mingle looks great (but might be broken for 3.3), do the membership plugins add features like Mingle? If you know?

    Thanks.
