Membership page for wholesale purchases

Hi there,

I’m in the middle of creating an online store, with simple ecommerce solution for customers to come and purchase items online (wp-ecommerce plugin).

The client is interested in an expandable option that allows businesses to sign up for a membership, where they are entitled for wholesale prices (membership area/page where it displays whole sale items and prices). I’ve never done this before and would like to get some feedback on it; if you know of any guides I can follow, some helpful tips. If this can’t be done in WordPress I would like to know this too.
