Hi, I am new to WordPress and have a question for those that are more knowledgeable. I am creating a website that a user would be able to log into and land on a personal stat page where they would enter their workout and time for the day. The page would have cumulative stats of their workouts since logging in, keep track of the times they posted for different events, keep track of times for different competitions, have awards when they hit certain times, levels etc. The will be able to put in a goal and the site would forecast when they should hit it based on the data input by the user. I don’t know enough about the WordPress world or this plugin to ask the right question.

It would seem that these items could do what I want but the graphing and forecasting. Can anyone give me some guidance?

    Hi @Stoneturner

The Membership plugin is for restricting access to certain parts of your website, not for what you want with a rewards system I'm afraid.

I did a search for "wordpress plugin track exercise" and found a few, it might be worth doing something similar and seeing if you can find one that is specifically created for your needs.

    Hi Mike,

I have been in computers for a while and investigate tech for the companies I have worked for. I do want a member only section were users (after they log in) land on their member page and have statistics about what they have done in the past and can enter in new data for the day. The expectation is that they will be logging in daily to the site, going to their member landing page, see the stats, and enter in new data that is added to their numbers (producing new stats) and either exploring the member content or leaving for the day. This is not specifically for athletic training but i thought if I could find something that handled the athletic material it could be used for a similar purpose.

    Hi @Stoneturner

I'm not sure if I'm fully understanding what you want, but having access to a specific membership area can just be done with WordPress, once registered they have access to wp-admin, so you can allow certain sections once people have a certain role.

Membership was designed for selling content really. So if you have a forum that you wanted people to pay to use, or if you sold information on something, you charge people for a membership which allows access to the page with the information on or access to e-book downloads.

The exercise style setup you want isn't something that could be done immediately with Membership and it would need some custom development.

If I've completely misunderstood please try and re-explain what you want in a simple way so that I can understand :-)

    Hi Mike,

The idea is to have a content area that a user has their own landing page and have content that is accessible to other users etc. It is kind of like myfitnesspal.com The site I would like to put together has nothing to do with weight loss but I am using myfitnesspal.com as a model. If I am heading down the wrong technology path please let me know. I have used and consulted for software and hardware vendors for decades and WP seemed like a tech that could do what I am looking to do.

    Best,

    Todd

    Hi @Stoneturner

So essentially you want each user to have their own mini website?

If that is the case then you need something like Pro Sites:
    http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/pro-sites/

This will allow you to set monetize selling websites, you can even limit the number of posts/pages that users can post.

Sounds like that would be more along the lines of what you need.

Also you could use something like New Blog Templates:
    http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/new-blog-template/

This will allow you to create a new blog, set it up with plugins and a theme, widgets and content, and then use it as a template, so every new blog that is created, is a carbon copy of that template blog.

No, I dont think so. It would be no different than when you log into your wireless carrier and looked at your account information... I don't see what you are talking about being the same.

    Hi @Stoneturner,

No I agree that what @Mike suggested is not quite an "Account" page. Our Membership plugin does offer an account page, but only as far as it relates to memberships created using the plugin, you can't add any custom fields or anything.

I think what your looking for would require more custom coding.
